I feel a lot better right now, especially after having a 3-hr nap haha.
The miserable day began when I stepped out of my house at 630 am. It was cold really. 7.30 am - there I was, in the hospital, waiting for the doctors to come. None of us chatted excitedly, and everyone got this kinda gloomy look on their faces haha. We discussed several clinical cases and spotted questions (fruitless it was :( ). The doctor came at 8.30, leading us to the seminar room. Here, we were told about the rules and regulations. There were 8 stations including one rest station (there were food and drinks! really!). We've got to move from one station to another, with an approximate of 7 minutes for each station and the bell will ring indicating that we had to move.
The first station was supervised by Dr Elyas, a well-known malignant doctor! The case was hypertension, preeclampsia and eclampsia. I had to discuss with him all the risk factors, examination, investigations, complications bla bla bla. And I did not do well. After all it was the first station and I still had this kinda uneasy feeling! The next station was conducted by Dr Zuhair. We discussed lotsa things on contraceptive method in pregnancy etc. Rest station followed immediately after the 2nd one.
I did my best on my 4th station, a case on Diabetes Mellitus. Dr Haifa' kept giving out the clues and hints huhuh. Next, I was questioned about Post Menopausal Bleeding - not too bad I suppose. On the 6th station, I had to deal with a case of recurrent abortion. Dr Isam was not helpful at all, and he turned the radio on as soon as we finished discussing. Why? I really dont know hehe. The worst station ever was the 7th, where I was asked about infertility cases, the management bla bla bla. The questions were TOO SPECIFIC. I mean, there was a question on the WHO criteria on semen analysis, plus a question on the IVF rate of success etc etc. WOW! My brilliant answer was "I don't know" followed by another "I don't know" and then again " I don't know" hahaha. It was kinda irritating to see those detailed questions! Well, if only I get a chance to glance through the notes for 5 minutes...then everything will turn out well! The last station was OK, I did obstetric examination to see the fundal height, fundal grip, lateral grip etc etc.
The result will be announced next week. So I have to wait and see. I think that I will have to study extremely hard and smart for the finals!
